Abstract
Objective: The long-range missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN) are considered one of the most fundamental tools for exerting the country's power and will in various geographical regions. Therefore, the IRIN, by executing long-range missions and maintaining a continuous presence in international waters and ports of countries across different geopolitical regions, has effectively realized this objective. The aim of this research is to examine the impact of the long-range missions of the IRIN on Iran's geopolitical weight.
Methods: This applied research employs a descriptive-analytical method with a mixed approach. Data were collected through both field and library research methods, and the statistical population consisted of 50 experts related to the subject. Data analysis was conducted using the Smart PLS software.
Findings: After analyzing the data obtained from questionnaires and qualitative data analysis, it was determined that the long-range missions of the IRIN, with two dimensions—presence in foreign ports and presence in international waters and oceans—have a significant impact on Iran's geopolitical weight.
Conclusion: The results of this research indicate that the long-range missions of the IRIN have a substantial impact on Iran's geopolitical weight.
