Abstract
Background and Objective:Marine Sustainable development means the sustainable use of the sea's capacity to supply the needs of current and future generations in harmonizing humans with the marine environment. In this regard, the Objective of this research is to recognition the future of marin sustainable development in I. R. Iran.
Methods: The type of research is developmental-applied based on the purpose, qualitative based on the nature of the data, and documentary based on the data collection method, meta-synthesis, MICMAC analysis, and strategic foresight were used to analyze the data.
Findings: In line with marin sustainable development, seven dimensions were identified and by selecting the two dimensions with the greatest uncertainty, namely marin politics and marine science and technology, and through certain steps, four alternative scenarios were presented for the future of marin sustainable development of the Iran.
Conclusions:The future of marine sustainable development in Iran depends on the intelligent management of the interconnected network of key dimensions and its effective drivers, and achieving the desired scenario of "a flourishing sea with raised sails and favorable winds" is not a dream, but a "strategic choice."
