Prioritizing the factors affecting open innovation in defense organizations

Abstract
Objective: Open innovation is a paradigm that assumes a company can and should utilize both internal and external ideas and paths to market as a means to accelerate and improve its technology and product innovation. Therefore, the present study prioritizes the factors affecting open innovation in defense organizations using the best and worst methods in 1403.
Methodology: The research method in this study is applied in terms of purpose. Also, this research is descriptive in terms of data collection. Among the descriptive research methods, this study is considered survey research due to using a questionnaire. This study is pragmatic in terms of research philosophy; in terms of research approach, this study is an inductive approach; in terms of research selection, this study is a mixed type; in terms of period, this study is a cross-sectional type.
Findings: According to the analysis of documents, 7 criteria and 35 sub-criteria affecting open innovation in defense organizations were obtained.
Conclusion: The results indicate that the sub-criteria of utilizing the best practices of successful organizations, fostering a culture of seeking and recognizing new knowledge and technology, attending exhibitions and specialized seminars, and facilitating the transfer of foreign knowledge are the most important criteria, according to the experts. Also, selling intellectual property by licensing the use of knowledge and creating value in the organization's knowledge through R&D outsourcing were the least important indicators according to the experts.
