DFSR promises to act professionally and efficiently, be fair and objective, approach the accused party to establish their position, and provide sufficient time for all parties to respond whenever a research or publishing ethics issue arises. They will keep all parties informed of decisions, including the copyright owners, editors, and authors, and follow the processes highlighted in the flowcharts presented by COPE as members of the Committee on Publication Ethics. DFSR will protect authors' moral rights, ensure the correct record of the literature, and reserve the right to withdraw and rescind any acceptance should a case of ethical misconduct be discovered before publication. However, it may not be possible to please all parties in every case, and the final decision in any disputed case will rest with the editor and DFSR after a fair and considered process. The AJA University of Command and Staff is archiving all contents of DFSR for long-term preservation.
