Explaining the evolution process of supply chain management in the path of intelligence: a study based on bibliometric approach

Abstract

Objective: the current research seeks to explain the evolution of supply chain management in the direction of intelligence: a study based on a scientific approach.
Methodology: The current research is descriptive and analytical. A comprehensive review and bibliometric analysis was conducted with regard to the main questions to examine the performance of institutions and countries of the world, the status of specialized publications, the general status of citations, clusters of research themes and the time course of the emergence of concepts in the field of intelligent supply chain management. The analysis started with the selection of 744 articles between the years 2002 and 2023 and then analyzed using VOSviewer software.
Findings: In this research, 15 leading magazines that have been widely published about emerging digital and smart technologies in the supply chain and also ten highly cited articles and keywords have been identified.
Originality: Research results based on the keywords, the literature of emerging digital and smart technologies in the supply chain and logistics on "blockchain", "big data", "sustainability", "artificial intelligence", "traceability" , "Internet of Things" and "Industry 4.0" are focused and, it covers most of the food industry. This study provides researchers with a better understanding of digitalization research in supply chain and logistics management and existing knowledge gaps for further research.
